The BSC Show held in the Richard Attenborough Stage at Pinewood Studios last week proved to be a true success with many of the new products on the LCA stand being received extremely well by all those who visited.
On display with the already established Cineo range of lighting was the Cineo Matchbox™ – the latest in versatile, portable Remote Phosphor lighting for motion picture and television production. At roughly 3″ x 5″ x 1″ and 15 oz, the Matchbox outputs a stunning amount of high-quality light at a variety of accurate colour temperatures. A wide range of input power lets you run Matchbox on any input voltage from 6-30VDC, as well as AC with the included adapter. The Matchbox includes an on-board 0-100% flicker-free dimmer that works in conjunction with upstream DMX or remote dimmers. Anodised aluminum construction makes Matchbox extremely rugged and durable. This product will be available in March but we are taking orders now.
Along with the very popular LiteRibbon, this year we showed the latest product to come from Litegear – the lightweight, unique and versatile LED light, the LiteMat. It is simple, yet durable, high quality and economical and takes an unusual approach to lighting. By providing evenly spaced, colour-correct LEDs spread out over a large area, LiteMat creates soft light without requiring diffusion. This “soft-through-pixelisation” method allows the unit to achieve surprisingly bright light levels while remaining under one inch thick in size and just one kilogram (2.2 lbs) in weight and with its Kino-Flo compatible mounting systems also offers great flexibility.
One of the brightest LED’s made, the Cinetile from Inteca, wowed the visitors on the LCA stand. With a colour range of 2700k to 6500k, the Cinetile uses a new processor to ensure light quality, colour temperature and brightness are consistent throughout the day. This new LED is flicker free up to 1000Hz/fsd, is DMX compatible and can be powered via any power source from 10-48DC.
As well as the latest in LED lighting, LCA were delighted to show some of the innovative products from K5600 Lighting. With Alpha 9k lit with the new Octadome and the Joker 1600 with the soft tube, the lights put on a good display.
DoP Choice presented their easy to assemble SnapGrids, Butterflys and the new SnapBag. All the DoP products boast durability, no tummy and no hassle and demonstrated with the new SnapBag how easy it is to assemble.
The latest offerings from Rosco were also on show – the Miro and Braq Cubes. The Braq Cube™ offers massive light output from a compact, self-contained, 5 inch footprint and a meager 100W power draw with no expensive power supply or ballasts needed – plug directly into mains power 90-240 VAC. The Miro Cube™ series of LED wash lights outputs more than 3000 lumens from a compact 4 inch cube. With a clean, uncluttered geometric design, the Miro Cube is rugged and durable, and perfectly at home in museums, on track light systems, in high-end stores and boutiques or built into sets, truss and lighting rigs for productions.
If you missed the BSC Show, don’t worry. LCA will be exhibiting on stand A12 at the BVE Show, Excel London from 24-26 February. You can register for this show for free at www.bvexpo.com
